Tau Joyas

Rosario · Glass Jeweller & Flameworker · Poble-sec, Barcelona

“Come and visit my little glass world.”

Materials

Borosilicate glass shaped at the flame

From Flame to Art

Tau Joyas is Rosario’s glassmaking practice, based in her personal studio in the Poble-sec neighborhood of Barcelona. Every piece is hand-formed from glass using a torch, a technique known as flameworking, which she continues to deepen through masterclasses in studios as far away as Berlin. The process demands the utmost concentration: at high temperatures, the glass becomes malleable, but only for a few seconds before it hardens.

Collections and Analog Aesthetics

Her work moves through named collections “Mar de Promesas” (Sea of Promises), “Bosque EncanTau” (Enchanted Forest), “Glass Smoke,” “Pieza de baile” (Dance Piece) and is shot mostly with analog film by photographer Irene Villarroya, in collaboration with stylists, dancers, and tattoo artists who pull the pieces into larger scenes. Objects are sold at Muy Sentia, ArtBeats, her studio in Poble-sec and in art events or pop ups

Principles

  • Handmade

Every ring and pendant is hand-formed at a torch (flameworking) at high temperature. No two pieces are identical.

  • Sustainable Materials

Borosilicate glass, fine glass rods for torch work, sterling silver. The process produces no waste.

  • Fair Trade Minded

Glass is collected from nature, preventing it from landfills. Each piece has a story of where its material came from.

  • Small Batch, Collection-Driven

Each collection has its own vision and palette (Sea Glass, Wine Bottle, Murano, Ceramic). Works are rare and unique within each series.
